Clydesdale MSP, Aileen Campbell has given her support to the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund’s (SCIAF) campaign Wee Box, Big Change and is encouraging Clydesdale residents to give up their ‘wee’ weakness in support of the appeal.

In 2012, Clydesdale’s schools, parishes and local residents raised an amazing ?11,718 for Wee Box, Big Change and local MSP Aileen Campbell has committed to give up her favourite chocolate treats in aid of the appeal.
The campaign encourages people to give up something during lent such as coffee, chocolate, cakes or alcohol, and donate the money saved to SCIAF to help support their work in Burundi - a small country in central Africa which is recovering from a devastating civil war.
A host of stars including Scottish actor Robert Carlyle, singer Susan Boyle and Scotland captain Darren Fletcher have backed the appeal and promised to give up a treat until Easter.
Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:
"SCIAF’s Wee Box, Big Change campaign helps to highlight the many people around the world that still have to battle against poverty and hunger.
"Clydesdale raised nearly ?12,000 last year and I hope people will be able to support the campaign again and help it top last year’s total of ?889,875.
"I’ve given up my wee weakness for chocolate until Easter and I will be donating the money I save to the Wee Box appeal, which will go to those less fortunate than ourselves in some of the poorest countries to help them overcome poverty and the daily challenges they face."
