Clydesdale MSP, Aileen Campbell marked her commitment to Holocaust Memorial Day by signing a Book of Commitment in the Scottish Parliament to honour those who perished.

The Holocaust Trust placed the Book of Commitment in the Scottish Parliament to give MSPs the opportunity to pledge their commitment to uphold the memory of the Holocaust and ensure its lessons are never forgotten.

Scotland marked Holocaust Memorial Day, the 68th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration and death camp Auschwitz-Biekenau, on Sunday 27th January 2013.

Commenting, Aileen Campbell said:

"Holocaust Memorial Day marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau and I was honoured to be able to pledge my commitment to uphold the memory of the Holocaust and pay tribute to its victims and survivors.

"It is important we continue to remember these atrocities and other genocides, and educate our young people to help the fight against prejudice and intolerance."
