"This is excellent news for people from Crossford who work in Lanark and who had found themselves stuck in the evenings because of the long gap between services.

"I was happy to make representations on behalf of local residents, and I’m glad that SPT have taken on board these concerns and worked with the operator Stuart’s coaches to put on this additional service.

"It will make life considerably easier for people who rely on public transport to get between Lanark and Crossford in the evenings. I was delighted to see off passengers on the first departure on Monday
evening, and I hope more people will take advantage of this service in the coming days and weeks.

"Improving bus services across the Clydesdale area is clearly a key concern for many local residents, and I’ll keep campaigning for better public transport across the area."
