Sign up now to be part of mass artwork in Edinburgh.

I am encouraging women and girls from Clydesdale to walk together as part of a mass artwork to celebrate the centenary of women’s suffrage in Edinburgh on Sunday 10 June.

To mark this historic moment, thousands of woman across the UK will wear either green, white or violet scarves - the colours of the suffrage movement - appearing as a flowing river of colour as they walk through the city streets.

PROCESSIONS takes place in the four UK political capitals - Edinburgh, Belfast, Cardiff and London - that afternoon.

To take part in this free event, sign-up at You can download a toolkit from the website and make your own banner to bring along on the day.

I am delighted to support the women and girls from Clydesdale who have already signed up to mark this historic anniversary of when the first women got the vote. I hope that many more will join them to celebrate how much has been achieved for women, as well as to recognise how far there is still to go.

It will be an amazing atmosphere and the type of event that everyone will look back on with pride in the future and say “I was there”.
