SNP MSP for Clydesdale Aileen Campbell has welcomed the funding award from the Big Lottery Fund Scotland for Lanarkshire Epilepsy Support Group.

The Group has been successful in its application for funding, securing £89,852 of National Lottery funding.

This funding will be used to support the group's network for people and families affected by epilepsy living in Lanarkshire. Funded activities will build on work already carried out and will establish small local peer support groups in conjunction with running events and organising group meetings.

Commenting, Ms Campbell said:

“This is excellent news and I warmly congratulate Lanarkshire Epilepsy Support Group on their successful application. This funding will make a massive difference to the charity and provide a boost to those who rely on their help.

“I encourage other groups who would benefit from similar funding to make applications to the Big Lottery Fund. The BLF are focussed on distributing National Lottery Good Cause funding to help people and communities most in need throughout Scotland. This is through its five-year £250m main funding scheme as well as through its small grants scheme, Awards for All Scotland.”
