MSP for Clydesdale Aileen Campbell visited Strathaven Library today to promote Book Week Scotland 2016.

Aileen met with staff and members at Strathaven Library as well as Fiona Renfrew, South Lanarkshire Libraries Co-ordinator and Gerry Campbell, general manager of South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture.

Book Week Scotland takes place from Monday 21 - Sunday 27 November. During Book Week, events take place in libraries, schools, community venues and workplaces to share and enjoy reading.

Commenting, Aileen said:

“I enjoyed celebrating Book Week Scotland with staff and members at Strathaven Library.

“I am impressed with the services on offer in our libraries and the innovative plans for the future. Libraries provide facilities where we can read for free, use learning spaces and access community resources.

“Book Week is an excellent time to share the joys of reading among all ages and levels. Head to your local library or visit the Scottish Book Trust online for some reading inspiration.”
