SNP MSP for Clydesdale Aileen Campbell visited the regular ‘Tuesday Teas’ at Crawford village hall on Tuesday 9th August to hear more about the on-going ambitions of the Crawford Improvement Group and to catch up with constituents who attend the popular gathering.
The MSP met organiser, Marjory MacArthur who has been running the Tea on Tuesday events and heard about the ways in which she hopes this can further galvanise the community and bring more people together in order to provide a meeting place, do crafts or other pursuits. Aileen also met with Community Council chair, Bill Lindsay to hear about the wider plans to improve Crawford.
Commenting, Ms Campbell said:
“It was a pleasure to join the Crawford Improvement Group for their weekly Tuesday coffee morning. Groups such as these provide a great benefit to the community and are doing terrific work to bring people in the local area together to help develop new initiatives in the village. The commitment and dedication that Marjory and her team have to provide a place for people to meet, chat and share stories and skills is fantastic and their efforts deserve to be congratulated. So too do the efforts of the local community council for their work to bring about improvements to the village and to continue to be ambitious for their community.
“I look forward to attending again and would thoroughly recommend to anyone living nearby that they drop by on a Tuesday and get themselves a cuppa and a blether!”
