SNP MSP for Clydesdale, Aileen Campbell is meeting with Kira Roulston before the Christmas holidays in order to offer her congratulations.

Kira, P7 was chosen as the overall winner of Ms Campbell’s annual card design competition for which she invites all primary seven pupils in the constituency to design her Christmas e-card.

Under the rules of the competition, pupils had to design a card under the theme of the Year of Innovation and Architecture, with many choosing to draw their favourite buildings in Clydesdale. Runners up of the competition came from Leadhills, Law, Crawford and Carstairs primary schools.

The winning design called ‘New Lanark at Christmas’ has been sent out to Ms Campbell’s contacts including the First Minister of Scotland. Ms Campbell is visiting Chapelton Primary School to give her congratulations to Kira.

Savings from sending the card electronically rather than by post have been given to Clydesdale Food Bank where Ms Campbell presented her personal donation.

Commenting, Aileen said:

“Thank you to all pupils who took part in the competition and made it so difficult for me to pick out the winner! All entries did a fantastic job of combining some of Clydesdale’s greatest sites with festive fun.

“A special well done to the winner Kira who designed a beautiful ‘New Lanark at Christmas’ card.

“I will once again personally donate savings made from sending my card electronically instead of by post, to Clydesdale Food Bank. I am grateful to them for welcoming me to present this donation to the team who are working hard over this busy period.”
