SNP MSP for Clydesdale, Aileen Campbell has welcomed contributions made at her Fairer Scotland discussion event held in Douglas on Tuesday 3rd November.
Taking place in St Bride’s Centre, Douglas, attendees saw presentations from Cabinet Secretary for Social Justice Alex Neil, Wendy Kyle of Healthy Valleys and Morag Fleming of Clydesdale Citizens Advice Bureau.
The purpose of the event was to encourage discussion and contributions for the Scottish Government’s Fairer Scotland consultation. Local residents, community groups and organisations attended to put forward their views.
Commenting, Aileen said:
“It was fantastic to help facilitate positive discussion about Scotland’s future and to see people actively interested in making our society more equal. Mr Neil and his team listened attentively to points made at the event, and I am assured these will be put forward to the Fairer Scotland policy team.
“With informative presentations from Healthy Valleys and Clydesdale Citizens Advice, the evening gave attendees the chance to hear about great work happening in our own communities. Importantly, the evening struck a good balance between listening to speakers and providing space for discussion.
“Thanks to all who came along to St Bride’s and contributed their thoughts to this essential national conversation. If you couldn’t make the event, you can still have your say by visiting”.
