Clydesdale’s MSP Aileen Campbell has welcomed the funding boost to St Nicholas Pre School Playgroup after it was announced the Lanark group has secured £2,870 from the Communities and Family Fund.
The group will use the funding for their project costs for the year.
The Communities and Family Fund comprises of £4.5M from the Scottish Government and £1.5M from the Big Lottery Fund. The £6 million fund offers grassroots projects the chance to get funding of between £250 and £10,000. This fund is focused on improving early learning, health and wellbeing for children under eight years old by supporting them, their families and communities
Commenting, Campbell said:
“This is fantastic news for the St Nicholas Pre School Playgroup, and I would like to congratulate them on their successful application to the Community and Family’s Fund.
“The Scottish Government wants Scotland to be the best place in the world for children to grow up and a key part of achieving that involves helping families and communities to flourish. This award is a prime example of the Scottish Government’s commitment to achieving this objective.  As Minister for Children and Young People I know the benefit of this fund is felt across Scotland and am delighted it is also benefiting children in Clydesdale too.
“I would encourage other Clydesdale organisations or groups to seek out opportunities with this fund.”
